Quicksilver + TextExpander > Sogudi

To all whom it may concern,

(This is fun I have never written something that I hope gets read but don't know if it ever will... kinda like a message in a bottle... I really should trademark that similie)

Because of the one and only Merlin Mann I have become an ravenous user of both Quicksilver (as any mac power-user should) and TextExpander.

I was intrigued by the recent MacBreak Minute about Sogudi...so I checked it out (only because Merlin said it would work with Quicksilver.)

Perhaps I have too quickly lauded my Quicksilver skills but I simply could not get it to work. I re-scanned my Catalog and still nothing... Perhaps the issue was due to Safari not being my default browser. Anyway...all of that ish to say this:

I have done in Quicksilver + TextExpander what I could not in Sogudi. I can do searches and link to commonly used queries (which will work even if I change to another browser b.t.w.) by creating some snippets in TextExpander.

The Trick: Quicksilver goes into "text" mode when you hit the period key. So put a period at the end of your TextExpander shortcut.

Sidenote: I spend copious amounts of time wishing I was witty enough to write something facetious. Having not arrived (at either wit or good grammar) I shall retire to my blanket by the sea.

If this made no sense please tell me.

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »

Scared Shitless

Merlin’s scared. You’re scared. Everybody is scared.

This is the video of Merlin’s keynote at Webstock 2011. The one where he cried. You should watch it. »
