Wrote this long-winded post to the TextMate list, so I thought I’d repurpose it here. Just quick tips on adding metadata to your text files and—because I’m a dull and repetitive scold—using controlled vocabularies to keep your stuff searchable.

Mark: that is, indeed, cool piping. I keep on forgetting about -l as a way of feeding one grep with file names of previously grep'ed matches... For faster searches though, one could look at namazu. The only regretable thing is that it is not UNICODE -- only ASCII and Japanese are supported... » POSTED IN:
