mollydot said: I’ve taken to saying yes when I read something sent to a lot of people and not relevant to me, in the hopes that the sender will eventually be annoyed enough to turn off receipt request. I like that idea a lot. I think I'm gonna have to use that one myself! Of course, there is always the manager who has to authorise something who doesn't read his emails and then has the nerve to ask why you haven't done something, normally asking for a read receipt as well.
