[ via Slashdot ] Damn, this could be pretty big stuff, eh? I'm guessing at least a few of you out there are rabid Blackberry users -- I've never even used one myself, but I have friends who live on theirs. So, I'm curious: How do you feel about the possibility of losing Blackberry service? If it went away today, what would you use instead? Do you have a fallback plan? 24 Comments

Three words to live by here: Not Gonna Happen! Maybe RIM has the workaround they've been talking up (if so, where is it, and why not just intro it), worst case, it's gonna cost them $1B. That's a clam load of ... clams, but hey, they can afford it. Their balance sheet is clean. They don't have that much cash on hand (nor should they from their investors' perspective), but they have plenty of equity they can leverage to raise it. Conclusion: a very expensive patent search f*ck up, but there is no way they are not going to weather this storm one way or another. » POSTED IN:
