Open Thread: What's your favorite minimalist wallet?

Like most 43F articles on economical carriage and stowage, the Jimi post attracted a lot of interest. Makes me think it's time for an open thread: What's your favorite minimalist wallet? Jimi? Slimmy? Moneyclip? Coin purse? Goin' commando? Spill in comments (and feel free to link to canonical product pages or price compar-i-nators like Froogle).

My own winner for minimalism? Starting before a trip to New York in the late 80s, I started wrapping my driver's license, ATM card, and a bill or two in a couple of my Goody pony tail holders (shut up). I think that was my wallet for at least the next two years -- until I got my first real job and decided to go cowhide again. Still, it remains one of my favorites.

OK..I figured, why not see...

OK..I figured, why not see which is best and "repurpose" the rest! I ordered the Jimi, the regular size all-ett and the little all-ett. My thoughts: 3rd Place: Jimi - cool and accomplishes the forced simplification goal - BUT - it's certainly not small. You can keep it in your front pocket but it's a significant lump. It only holds a couple of bills - too inconvenient. I may keep it for a badge holder for work...or give it to my teen. Best suited for the "jeans-n-teeshirt" crowd. 2nd Place: the regular size All-ett - Yup - it certainly flattens the load but it's really too big in dimensions for my pockets (work slacks). So - all my non-essential cards and stuff have gone into it and it'll be kept in the car's glove box. I really think it would be a great alternative for my wife who carries a 1" pile of cards in her pocketbook. 1st Place: the little All-ett. This is THE ONE! It does force the simplification goal but not as drastically as the Jimi. Still, I can get 4 cards and a few business cards in there without it getting thick (it'll hold more). The money holder is much better than the Jimi. It's very small and very flat and can go into any pocket without a problem. Two Thumbs Up!

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »
