Whats your my documents schema?
grantkemp | Aug 13 2006
Hi All. I had a computer crash the other day, and whilst I am waiting for my data to be returned, I thought it would be a great opportunity for some spring cleaning of my files. I know that there are a lot of you that are far more organised than me so I thought I would share my ideas about the optimal folders schema that will work for me. If any of you can suggest improvements, I would love to hear your suggestions. Heres the schema(ps I give this as complete creative commons so do with it what you will!) 14 Comments

En, I agree with your points. Regarding documents: Regarding the "new customer" I want to create mini-schema (or templates) so it should actually read "new company template" and "new supplier template" or even new project template. That way whenever I start a new company/supplier etc. I will just copy and rename the template and have all the folders prepopulated. Because I will have the same folder names they will always be easily accessible and organised(theoretically) Whether you are a student, employee or contractor, your data will always fall under that company name, or university name. When you move/ change clients you just copy and rename from the template... Your home inventory sounds really great. Personally I use Picasa for all my imaging and organising which is why I have excluded pictures from here. Using picasa search I can find any scanned receipt or image in about three clicks (including search) » POSTED IN:
