Inexpensive Fountain Pens
pooks | Feb 13 2006
I'm interested in cheap fountain pens because the last time I had a really nice one, I lost it. I currently have a new Lamy Safari extra fine nib and I love it. The only thing I'd change would be to have a slimmer pen -- this one is a little fat for where I keep it in my planner/purse. Any suggestions for slimmer fountain pen that isn't expensive? Or for that matter, any fountain pens that aren't expensive? I'm on the waiting list for the Speeno now, but would like to know what the other options are out there. 31 Comments

The Pelikan GO is swell--I don't think they are distributed here (it's a German school pen), but they're findable on eBay. But it's a fatter point. Any of the Pelikans are great, and they have lower-end ones. They maybe start at around $45 or 50? Hero is a Chinese pen that I've heard good things about, and their fine point is very fine. I have a Safari in white (eBayed all the way from Kuala Lumpur, you can bet my credit card company called me to verify that one) that I love. » POSTED IN:
