Laptop Essential Apps?
Richard Anderson | Aug 10 2006
I just bought me a Refurb iBook G4 from Apple for collegiate stuff. Are there any apps you folks can recommend? Perhaps something to keep my desktop (a mini G4) and lappy in sync, document-wise? I am all ears. 5 Comments

If you are willing to go geekySubmitted by dellis on August 14, 2006 - 7:19pm.
I have used RsyncX and unison. Note: unison the unix-based command line based application, not the usenet reader of the same name. unison works excellent and if you know what you are doing, you can automate it really easily. I used to use this back in my system administrator days to sync 3+ machines with my code. For the slightly less geeky, look at RsyncX. It still has some voodoo to it, but is more mac-like. I have also heard of people buying OS X Server and syncing home directories that way, but I am unfamiliar with it. (Mostly because it costs money and I am a cheap-ass) » POSTED IN:
