batch convert rtf, doc to txt

hi: I was wondering if there is any utility to convert all my rtf and doc files to plain text . I found rtf2txt for the command line but dont know how to do batch conversions to the hd. thanks 5 Comments

Is this on OS X or WinXP? On OS X, command line to the rescue. Put all of the files that you want to convert to txt in the same directory and then cd to that directory in Terminal and then textutil -convert txt *.* Done! If you are on WinXP, I don't know what is available. If you have a whole bunch of files to convert, then it might be worth it to put those files on a flash drive and then hop on a Mac at the library or something to get it done quickly. » POSTED IN:
