'Super Book'?
alxwz | Mar 17 2007
Hi all, I'm new to this forum and here's my first question: Some time and self management books or seminars here in Germany promote the use of a (hard-bound) book into which everything should go, in chronological order. First, could some native English speaker give me the correct English term for such a book, please? That would make googling so much easier. Secondly, any idea how the use of such a book could possibly map to GTD? Other than a hard-bound inbox, I can't see this fit into the GTD system, although I can see it as potentially useful (no more loose notes, everything in one place, etc.). Thanks in advance, 19 Comments

Some possible termsSubmitted by krackeman on March 17, 2007 - 7:09pm.
Terms I have heard used, used myself, or imagined are used: work log In english, the words 'notebook', 'journal', 'log book', and 'log' are all often used to describe the same thing. David Allen makes reference to executives who keep a "running record of daily notes, activities, etc. It is also referred to in a book called 'How to Think Like Leonardo DaVinci'. I am sure there are plenty of other references. In my understanding of GTD, a notebook like that can be processed by marking each section or page as you deal with it and get it into your trusted system. Unlike some other methods, GTD would not use such a notebook to continually refer back to, etc. However, since it does give a chronological and potentially exhaustive record, it can easily be incorporated. Good luck on your search. » POSTED IN:
