New 'kid' on block, doing Installation Intensive on my own

Hi folks! Over a year ago I stumbled upon 43folders.com and read GTD which really spoke to me, but I haven't been able to "stop the world & get off" until now, the end of the academic year. I'm too cheap & too ADDled to hire a GTD coach in time for this window of opportunity to begin implementing GTD, so I'm hoping to draw on this group for support as I refresh my memory of what I read. Right now I'm antsy to jump in, but it's overwhelming and I don't know quite where to start. Any advice? 3 Comments

Kim, Thx for your prompt...Submitted by semanenko on June 7, 2007 - 8:31am.
Kim, Thx for your prompt reply! I found your msg very helpful in jogging my memory, along with Scott Moehring's diagram. Haven't posted to GTD website, but did post to lifehack.org with no response there. Life has interfered for 2 days since your post, but yesterday evening while touching base in my ofc (I'm on summer vacation), I did a prelim mind dump to half-sheets of paper (my sentiment exactly on not using full sheets) and practicing categorization acc. to project & context. Today I face more daunting task of doing same at home, but am helped by results of previous incomplete mind-dump to lists (multiple items per page, which is where I lost steam before). Sounds like you work out of your home - As an academic, so do I much of the time, needing time away from demands of students & administrators to get things done that require deeper focus. Wish me luck - I now have 52 hrs in which to do this mind dump, then put away all the clutter that I've left lying out as dysfunctional reminders of all I need/want/wish to do, then clean up after it, before a house guest arrives.
