We've started a new feature over on MacBreak Weekly that I really hope becomes a regular thing: "_Mac Whines_!" Yeah, sure, I'm an unapologetic Apple fanboy (I, mean duh), but some stuff about my Mac experience makes me crazy. Have you got a beef with your Mac or OS X you want to shout from the shiny counter of the "Genius" Bar? Yeah, me too. I'll open with:

It's funny, I just wrote a blog post about a few last week ( http://lianza.org/blog/?p=505 ) To summarize: - The process of downloading a video from anywhere other than iTunes and getting it onto your video iPod is horrible. - No included notepad equivalent (sorry I like saving plain text sometimes, and TextEdit can't do it) - Stone-age filesharing unless you download 3rd party software (and then you're at least caught up to Windows circa 1997) - iPhoto is slow - Mail.app has primitive spam filtering (almost as primitive as Outlook) - Safari doesn't work with a lot of sites (ex. gmail/google calendar) so your forced to use Firefox, which runs very sluggishly on the Mac (spinny balls everywhere) I dig the Mac, it just has it's own share of frustrations. » POSTED IN:
